Eastern League

The Eastern League was formed in 1923. Several Hall of Famers appeared in the league like Wade Boggs, Ryne Sandberg, Nolan Ryan, Juan Marichal, Mike Schmidt, Whitey Ford, Richie Ashburn, Early Wynn, Johnny Mize, Bob Lemon, Warren Spahn, Carlton Fisk, Bill Mazeroski, Gary Carter and Ralph Kiner. Current major leaguers who came up through the Eastern League are Vladimir Guerrero, Alfonso Soriano, Scott Rolen, Roger Clemens, Derek Jeter, David Ortiz, Gary Sheffield, and Manny Ramirez, John Smoltz, Mariano Rivera, A.J. Pierzynski, and Andy Pettitte.
